Cursed Code 2024 was the very first edition of Cursed Code and became the kickoff for an annual Halloween tradition!
With horror stories taken straight from the reality of software production, our speakers shared their experiences, fears, and mishaps. In a Halloween-inspired setting with pumpkins, decorations, and smoking dry ice, participants could mingle freely with each other and the speakers during breaks, while enjoying coffee, snacks, and various beverages.
Each talk lasted about 30 minutes and was followed by a break, giving space for interesting discussions and networking – and wow, the participants really delivered!
Our speakers included:
Ola Ellnestam (Agical) – “20,000 Hours as a Code Hunter.”
Gustav Nyberg (Electronomics / Software Production / Twoday) – “The Mass Surveillance Machine – A Reign of Horror!”
Rikard Thulin (Squeed) – “100% Technical Excellence – 0% Business Value.”
Oscar “ChatGPT-guy” Olsson (Oscar Olsson) and William Holmberg (Dotnet Mentor) – “Pseudocode – The Death of the Programmer?”
Our host, Gustav Nyberg, moderated a highly engaging and much-appreciated panel discussion, filled with dynamic debate and active participation from the audience. We ended the evening with a visit to Poppels Brewery City Brewery for a three-course dinner paired with four drinks, along with a guided tour of the brewery.
