the cursed code of conduct
We want everyone – participants, speakers, partners, and crew – to feel welcome, safe, and respected at Cursed Code. Our Code of Conduct applies to all who take part in the event, regardless of role.
👋🏼 come as you are
Cursed Code is a space for diversity. Everyone is welcome, regardless of gender, gender identity, sexuality, ethnicity, religion, ability, experience level, or any other label.
🙅🏼 zero tolerance for harassment
We do not tolerate harassment of any kind. This includes verbal, physical, digital, or visual forms of harassment. Language or behavior that is threatening, discriminatory, derogatory, or otherwise harmful has no place here.
🤟🏼 respect boundaries and personal space
-
Personal space must always be respected.
-
Costumes and outfits are not an invitation – touching someone or their props is only allowed with clear consent.
-
Photos and filming: Always ask first.*Cursed Code Crew will be taking photos and filming sporadically during the event. By purchasing a ticket, you accept this. If you wish to be excluded from documentation, please contact the crew.
🫱🏻🫲🏾 community and responsibility
We want to create an environment where everyone can learn, share ideas, and have fun. This means:
-
You are responsible for your own behavior.
-
If you attend with children or youth, you as a guardian are responsible for them following this Code of Conduct.
-
Respect the schedule, participants, speakers, and everyone contributing to the event.
-
Be mindful of allergies. Avoid strong perfumes and scents. Please leave your peanuts at home.
🙋🏼 safety first
If you feel unsafe, experience harassment, or see someone else who needs help – contact the crew. We are here to support and take action.
🍽️ food
Skansen Kronan provides food, snacks, and beverages throughout the event. For safety and comfort reasons, no outside food or drinks are allowed.
🍻 alcohol and drugs
Cursed Code serves alcohol during the event, but outside alcohol is not allowed. We always encourage responsible consumption. We have zero tolerance for drugs.
If a participant becomes noticeably intoxicated or otherwise behaves in a way that disturbs others, we reserve the right to remove them from the event without a refund.
⚠️ disclaimer
Attendance at Cursed Code is at your own risk. Organizers are not responsible for personal belongings, equipment, props, or other items brought to the event. Security staff will patrol the venue, but we cannot guarantee that theft or damage will not occur. We therefore ask all participants to take responsibility for their belongings and to respect others’ property as if it were their own.
🦿 consequences
Anyone who violates this Code of Conduct may be warned, removed from the event, or banned from future participation – without ticket refund. Serious incidents may also be reported to the police.
🚼 children
We love future coders, but our event is not designed for very young children who cannot engage with the content. For both safety and comfort reasons, we kindly ask that the youngest ones stay at home. The venue also does not have the capacity to accommodate strollers.
🦄 animals
Service animals are of course welcome at Cursed Code. We ask all participants to respect both the animals and their handlers by not disturbing or touching the animals without explicit permission.
✨ We want Cursed Code to be a place where everyone can feel inspired, connected, and have an unforgettable experience. Respect and kindness are the foundation for creating the magic together. 👻🖤
