halloween + conference + tech + horror + community
If you did not attend last year of have not heard about the event, here is a little recap of CURSED CODE 2024:
🎃👻 Halloween 2024 marked the beginning of an annual Halloween tradition. 👻🎃
With terrifying tales straight from the world of software development, our speakers shared their experiences, fears, and blunders. In a spooky Halloween setting, with pumpkins, decorations, and bubbling dry ice. the participants were free to mingle with each other and the speakers during the breaks, while enjoying coffee, snacks, and refreshments.
Each talk lasted about 30 minutes and was followed by a break, where we hoped meaningful conversations and new connections would emerge—and wow, did the participants exceed all expectations!
Our speakers included:
• Ola Ellnestam – “20,000 Hours as a Code Hunter”
• Gustav Nyberg – “The Mass Surveillance Machine – A Reign of Terror!”
• Rikard Thulin – “100% Technical Excellence – 0% Business Value”
• Oscar "ChatGPT-guy" Olsson and William Holmberg – “Pseudocode – The Death of the Developer?”
We also hosted a highly engaging and appriciated panel discussion with strong participation from the audience. The evening ended at POPPELS CITYBRYGGERI with a three-course dinner and a guided tour of the brewery.
AGICAL, ELECTRONOMICS, HAPPYBITS, SOFTWARE PRODUCTION and SQUEED invited us to a night we won’t forget! We also had our conference podcaster Fredrik Björeman from the podcast KODSNACK on-site.
A tradition were made:
